Why Muhammad didn't even know the Solar eclipse wasn't the sign of the judgment day?

No one knows the time when judgment day will come. The Prophet (pbuh) simply warned that when seeing such things you should remember Allah. Your question asks something that is answered in your own question. The hadith doesn't say that he thought it was the last day either. he simply prescribed what to do during such occurrences.
