Child support for a adopted step child gone with her mother?

My wife just ran away with some guy in another city (California) and refuses to talk to me or give an address. She also took with her the daughter which I have adopted when she was 1 month old. The marriage lasted 5 years and now I want to file for divorce. Is it possible to do it without her cooperation? Will I pay any child support in this case?
