Why do I grow up surrounded by closeminded people?

I have that problem with my famliy as well. They are ok with my uality but they dont tend to like seeing anything thats not right in front of them or affecting their lives directly. I'm very much a spiritual person, often called an old soul, and keep my mind open to pretty much any interpretation of life, while they just seem to get through the days. What I found helps is surrounding yourself with people who are similar to you. Sometimes all it takes is a few close friends who really get it and accept you for you.
