What's are some good binoculars to get to look at planets?

I specifically want to see planets. I'm 16 and I've never done this before so I'd like some advice on what to use. I'd like the price to be not cheap (because I know the cheap can be tacky) but not expensive either (my dad will go bananas x] ), I think I'd prefer to start on some good binoculars with a tripod but the only ones I've seen have been on american sites!
